Greg and Tracy’s Heat Pump Story: Comfort and efficiency for a busy family in Sackville

Greg and Tracy wanted to raise their two children (and their pets) in the friendly community of Sackville where they first met over 30 years ago. Their inviting suburban home is conveniently located near walking trails and other amenities.

“We really like the fact that we can walk to everything, including the beautiful, forested trails,” says Greg. “And Tracy even walks to school everyday. It is a very nice place to raise our kids.”

As Greg and Tracy’s kids, Logan and Quinn, get older, the family is getting busier with sports and activities. From running and softball to snowboarding and volleyball, the family is always on the go. If one of them is participating in a sport, you’ll see the others on the sidelines cheering them on. To support their busy lifestyle, they needed a low-maintenance, energy efficient home that could accommodate their family—and beloved pets.

Keeping their pets safe and comfortable

The family’s many pets are truly what makes their house feel like a home.

“We have a lot of family pets, and we help with different rescues—we have cats, busy Australian Shepherds, and some reptiles,” says Tracy. “But it all works out, they are all loved and part of our family.”

With the diverse needs of their pets, especially during the summer months, keeping a consistent, calm environment for their home was critical—this is where their heat pump makes all the difference.

“I like the fact that the heat pump gives us a consistent climate in the house,” Greg explains. “The animals can have a consistent temperature—they don’t get too hot or too cold—it helps keep the house comfortable and the pets safe all year round.”

Changing their home, for the better, all year round

There is no question that having a cool home in the summertime is critical to their busy family. Tracy even noted that they couldn’t keep up with their active lifestyle without one in their home.

“We needed to have a heat pump because it gets really hot in the summertime now. I play a lot of sports and go on lots of walks. I needed a space to come home to that was nice and cool.”

Tracy and Greg are also quick to mention the benefits of their heat pump in the winter months. The family enjoys the comfortable heat throughout their home when the temperature drops. It also has been a game changer to help them reduce their home energy bills.

“What I have noticed most about the heat pump is that the oil we consume has gone down dramatically”, says Tracy. “We really don’t use that much oil in the house anymore because of the heat pump.”

Greg says they couldn’t imagine their home without a heat pump to provide them, their children, and their pets with year-long comfort.

“The heat pump helps us save on our energy costs and gives us the pleasure of feeling comfortable in our home— there hasn’t been a moment where we haven’t been happy that we have a heat pump.”
