How to charge your EV with our fast-charging network
Instructions
- Before you arrive at the charger, download the ChargeLab app to your cellular device.
- In the ChargeLab app, sign up for an account, and then connect your account to one of their payment options.
- Use the map feature within the app to find a Nova Scotia Power EV Fast Charging location near you.
- When you arrive, park near the charger in a spot that makes it easy to reach your vehicle’s charging port.
- In the app, select your charger and port type compatible with your vehicle – NACS or CCS – then select a payment option to start your session. Once this is done, you will have 90 seconds to plug the charging cable into your vehicle.
- When plugging in, give the cable some slack by pulling on it near the machine. Then take the cable and plug it into your vehicle’s charging port. You will see confirmation in the app and on the screen of the charger when your session begins.
- Our 180 kWh chargers can charge most vehicle batteries in a matter of minutes. The exact amount of time varies by vehicle, but for most customers we suggest you stay near the station so that you can move your vehicle once you have the charge you need.
- You can end your charging session by pressing the “STOP” button in the app or on the charger screen.
- Unplug the charger from your vehicle, tidy the cable, and return it to its respective holder.
- Your receipt and charging history can be found in the app.

Call ChargeLab at 1-800-636-0986 for the 180 kW network or FLO at 1-855-543-8356 for the 50 kW network.
Note: Payments are processed through a third-party vendor, not through Nova Scotia Power. By proceeding to payment, you are agreeing to be bound by the vendor’s terms and conditions.
1. Not all sites may be NACS equipped immediately. Consult the ChargeLab app for interoperability. Tesla vehicles require CCS support to use NACS connectors; some older models may not be equipped. Consult your vehicle’s information screen.
2. Charging speed is as requested by the vehicle. Power sharing allows two vehicles to charge using the same charger. The first vehicle will be able to access the full power output up to 180 kW (CCS 1: 150 – 920 Vdc 400 A (peak), NACS: 150 – 920 Vdc 375 A). When two vehicles are charging, the maximum either vehicle can access is 90 kW.
3. Onsite credit card payments coming soon.
4. Roaming is subject to an activation fee of $1.25 per session set by the roaming provider. Memberships are available for a monthly price. Visit www.chargehub.com to learn more.
