Nova Scotia Power finalizes Restoration Efforts

HALIFAX, NS – Nova Scotia Power crews have restored power to 99% of our customers who lost power as a result of the storm. We expect to have all of the remaining customers restored by the end of today.

As of 3 p.m., crews had restored power to more than 67,000 customers. Our crews continue to work safely to restore power as quickly as possible. We won’t stop until the last customer has their electricity back.

“Our crews worked through extremely challenging conditions overnight to restore customers, and continued to make great progress throughout today,” said Stephen Pothier, Nova Scotia Power Storm Lead. “Winds were higher than forecasted – reaching over 100 km/hr in many parts of the province. The majority of outages were caused by high winds knocking trees onto powerlines.”

Pothier said as of noon, Nova Scotia Power reopened its Customer Care Centre to regular business. Previously, our customer care representatives were focused on answering calls and providing our customers with information on outage restorations.

We continue to update estimated restoration times as crews assess damage sites. Customers can get the latest information by calling 1-877-428-6004 or by visiting outagemap.nspower.ca.
