Vivek Sood

President & CEO

Vivek Sood is an accomplished leader and board director with more than 30 years of experience across consumer-focused organizations including retail, pharmacy, wholesale, convenience, and financial services. 

Appointed President and CEO of Nova Scotia Power in March 2026, Vivek is known for his focus on customers, employees and communities. He most recently served as Executive Vice President, Related Businesses at Sobeys Inc., where he played a central role in leading multiple operations, shaping corporate strategy, employee culture, and social responsibility for one of Canada’s leading food retailers. 

He serves as Board Governor and member of the Audit/Risk Committee for Saint Mary's University, and Board Trustee, Board Vice-Chair and Chair of the Audit/Risk Oversight Committee for the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21.  He also serves as a Trustee and a member of both the Governance and Nominating Committee, and Investment Committee of Crombie REIT.

Vivek is an Honorary Lieutenant Colonel with the 1st Field Artillery Regiment, was named CEO of the Year (2020) by Atlantic Business Magazine and was inducted into their Atlantic Business Hall of Fame in 2023. He received his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2004 and his ICD.D designation in 2021.
