Renewable Energy

We are adding cleaner, greener sources of electricity.

For decades, Nova Scotia Power has owned and operated about 400 megawatts of renewable generation made up of wind, hydro and tidal power.

Right now, about 12 per cent of the electricity we use every day in Nova Scotia comes from renewable energy sources. We’re continuing to increase that amount.

This section contains more information on our renewable energy activities. Find out more about the Province of Nova Scotia’s Renewable Energy Standards, which are driving many of the new activities we have underway.
