Nova Scotia Power Rebates

NS Power has introduced rebates to help reduce the amount of electricity used new homes. To be eligible for any of the following NS Power rebates, the completed home must have a final EnerGuide rating of at least 80.

Please be advised that NS Power is not providing a separate rebate cheque. Electrical rebates will be combined in a single provincial rebate cheque.

For buildings with electric water heaters
Drain water heat recovery (must be used with electric water heater).
    Efficiency 30% to 41.9%$75*

Solar domestic water heating systems (must be linked with electric water heater to pre-exisiting electric water tank).$1250*
Electric water heater pipe wrap (Foam pipe wrap must cover a minimum of 6 feet of the exposed copper hot water pipes exiting the water heater and a minimum of 3 feet of the exposed copper cold water pipes entering the water heater).$10

Fixtures must be in high to medium use locations. Areas that do not qualify for incentives or count as qualifying locations include inside closets, unfinished basements/crawlspaces, utility rooms, attics, and detached garage interiors
An electrically-heated home with a final EnerGuide rating of 85 or higher$300 extra

Please note:

  • ETS systems must have the ability to store heat during NS Power’s off peak hours. The system must have appropriate timing and controls in place to operate with NS Power's time-of-day power rates. Timing and control options include meter signals, programmable thermostats or time clocks.
