Rick is responsible for all aspects of Nova Scotia Power's operations, including power generation, fuel procurement and transmission and distribution operations.
Prior to being promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, he was Vice President, Operations and General Manager of Power Production. Rick has also been Director of Business Development for generation projects at Emera Inc., Director of Plant Operations, and Senior Manager at both Trenton and Point Tupper generating stations.
Rick joined Nova Scotia Power in 1989. He was previously in construction management, manufacturing and the pulp and paper industry.
A graduate of St. Francis Xavier University and the Technical University of Nova Scotia ( Dalhousie University ), Rick is a professional engineer and a member of Association of Professional Engineers of Nova Scotia.
Rick is a member of the Board of Directors for Northeast Power Coordinating Council (NPCC). He is an alumnus of the Governor General's Leadership Conference and sits on the Board of Directors for Leave Out Violence.
