Brian is responsible for all financial matters at Nova Scotia Power, including accounting and internal control, external financial reporting, taxation and all financial matters related to corporate strategy and regulatory affairs.
With more than 15 years of corporate financial experience, he has been part of the Emera/NSPI finance leadership team since 2007 when he accepted the role of Director, Taxation.
Brian graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1990. In 1992, he earned his Chartered Accountant designation with KPMG.
Brian has specialized in income tax for many years and has completed the CICA In-Depth taxation program.
Brian is active in the community, currently serving on the Board of Directors of FEED Nova Scotia. He has also served on the Board of Directors of UNICEF Nova Scotia, BioNova and on several committees of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia. He is also an active volunteer with Junior Achievement Nova Scotia, Feed Nova Scotia and Bedford United Church. Brian is also a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Canadian Tax Foundation.
