Electricity Rates and Regulations

As a public utility, Nova Scotia Power is regulated under the Public Utilities Act by the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board (UARB).

The UARB has supervisory powers over our operations and expenditures, such as capital investments. Electricity rates in Nova Scotia are also subject to UARB approval.

Each year, we may file hundreds of applications and reports with the UARB. Many of our larger filings are posted here, such as significant capital investment plans or applications to change electricity rates. For a full list of filings and reports, visit www.nsuarb.ca.
