We carefully track and disclose emissions from our operations and use ambient air monitoring stations to keep track of how those emissions affect the quality of the air we breathe.
We look for opportunities to conserve, protect and recover ecosystems and habitats, and protect the plants and animals that live there.
Biodiversity & Stewardship
Like many large organizations, we have a number of waste streams to manage. We practice the three R’s - reduce, reuse and recycle.
Preparing for Environmental Emergencies
We work closely with the Province of Nova Scotia Communities, Culture and Heritage Division, responsible for the administration of the Special Places Protection Act and the protection of archeological sites and cultural heritage resources.
We continue to establish and maintain meaningful relationships with the KMKNO and Mi’kmaw communities, working collaboratively to understand the cultural significance of the lands, resources and waterways, and address Mi’kmaq areas of interest and potential concern for cultural resources during construction and refurbishment projects
