Nova Scotia Power initiating work in Armdale Rotary to enhance Halifax Peninsula service

June 23, 2017
HALIFAX, NS – Nova Scotia Power crews will be working in the Armdale Rotary from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, in preparation for system upgrades coming later this summer at the utility’s Armdale substation. Crews require access to utility cables located under the Armdale Rotary that connect to the Armdale substation in order to finalize project planning, details and time lines.

The Armdale substation is an integral part of our system that distributes electricity to customers in the Halifax Peninsula, Armdale, and western Halifax communities. Upgrades to the substation itself, as well as the addition of four new feeder lines, are planned to accommodate additional service capacity and improve overall customer reliability in the event of required system maintenance.

Motorists and cyclists are advised that rotary traffic will be reduced to one lane from Herring Cove Road through to the Chebucto Road exit during this work. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times, and traffic control personnel will be onsite to direct pedestrians safely around the work site as needed. The public is advised to anticipate delays in the area and take alternative routes, where possible.

Nova Scotia Power thanks the public for their patience while this work is underway.
