$85,000 donation to support 5500 families province-wide
HALIFAX -- FEED NOVA SCOTIA and Nova Scotia Power are partnering to buy turkeys for 5500 Christmas dinners across the province, as Nova Scotians gear up for the holiday season.
“FEED NOVA SCOTIA does extraordinary work reaching out to families who need a helping hand,” said Rob Bennett, CEO of NS Power. “At NS Power, we feel honoured to partner with them in the important work they do. And we are proud to make this contribution to help make the holiday season a special time for Nova Scotia families.”
The announcement made this morning in Halifax includes an $85,000 contribution by NS Power. The 5500 families who will receive turkeys through FEED NOVA SCOTIA’s local food banks and agencies live in every corner of the province, including, HRM, Louisburg, Sydney, Port Hawkesbury, Antigonish, Canso, Guysborough, Amherst, Pugwash, Canning, Middleton, Hantsport and Chester.

We are so proud that they have chosen to support FEED NOVA SCOTIA and we are grateful to know their gift will help families in such a special way this holiday season.”
Every year, NS Power donates $1.3 million to charitable organizations across Nova Scotia.
