Your electrician will apply for the wiring permits and must coordinate all inspections with NS Power's Wiring and Permits Team in our Care Centre. During different stages of construction or renovation, a NS Power wiring inspector will visit your property to perform the inspections.
There are four types of inspections:
- Temporary inspection.
- Rough-in inspection.
- Service Entrance inspection before power is hooked up. A Wiring Inspector looks at the service equipment and meter base outside your home and your electrical panel inside your home.
- Final inspection after all electrical work is completed.
- If the work was done as part of a newly constructed home or if a substantial portion of the electrical installation has been replaced, the Wiring Inspector will stick a final inspection sticker to the inside of your electrical panel once passed.
