Centennial Scholarship

Since 1967, Nova Scotia Power has been proudly supporting Engineering education with the Centennial Scholarship Program and we remain a major investor in post-secondary education for Nova Scotians.

There are five $2000 scholarships awarded annually to students commencing full-time studies at Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Engineering over a two year period.

This scholarship is open to engineering students at Dalhousie University. Five $2,000 scholarships are available to students in any engineering discipline. The scholarships are renewable for two years. Recipients are chosen by a selection committee made up of Nova Scotia Power employees.

Award Criteria

A selection committee considers the academic excellence and personal attributes of the applicant, as well as involvement in extracurricular activities.

Eligibility

Applicants must be Canadian citizens (or landed immigrants) and full time residents of Nova Scotia for at least three years, two of which are immediately prior to their scholarship application. Students should be eligible to receive their Engineering Diploma in May and continue their full-time studies at Dalhousie University in September of the same year.

This scholarship will not be awarded in conjunction with any other NS Power scholarship.

Process

Applications will be submitted online and must have approval from your Faculty of Engineering for submission to Nova Scotia Power. Please include a cover letter and a resume along with an official copy of your academic transcript. Submissions must be made online, no paper submissions will be accepted.
