Good Neighbour Program

Through our Good Neighbour Program, Nova Scotia Power and our employees work to create positive change in our province. The program supports and fosters community-based organizations across the region. The Good Neighbour Program complements our corporate donations activities and is divided into the following categories:

Good Neighbour  Energy FundKeeping Nova Scotians warm — no matter what their short-term financial circumstances — is something Nova Scotia Power and our employees take to heart. Since 1997, we've worked with the Salvation Army to help families across the province. Any family facing an emergency financial situation can turn to the Good Neighbour Energy Fund for help with all forms of home heating, including firewood, coal, fuel oil, propane and electricity. Nova Scotia Power customers can support this program too. To apply to the Good Neighbour Energy Fund, visit any Salvation Army location in the province.

Good Neighbour Employee Charitable Fund
This fund lets employees give to charities of their choice via payroll deduction. A percentage of employee donations are matched by Nova Scotia Power.

Good Neighbour Volunteer FundEmployees who do fundraising or volunteer for charitable organizations or groups may ask Nova Scotia Power to donate up to $1,000 a year to support their volunteer efforts.
