Big Brothers Big Sisters

Nova Scotia Power Supports Big Brothers Big Sisters

Nova Scotia Power is donating $450,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters over three years, beginning in 2009. Seven Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies across Nova Scotia are benefiting from the contribution, which marks the largest single donation in Nova Scotia in the organization’s history.

Nova Scotia Power employees also actively support Big Brothers Big Sisters in other ways. Our employees mentor young people as a Big Brother or Big Sister and volunteer in the Bowl for Kids fundraiser, where the company matches funds raised by employees.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is Canada's leading youth mentoring agency, offering a host of innovative and successful one-to-one and group mentoring programs. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada has 150 member agencies in over 1,000 communities across the country providing mentoring services to over 23,000 children. For more information click here.

The dedicated staff and incredible volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters throughout our province make a real difference in the lives of young people. Nova Scotia Power is delighted to partner with them, and we are confident this contribution will help the agencies provide mentors for more Little Brothers and Little Sisters.
