Alan is responsible for all retail and commercial functions of Nova Scotia Power, including customer service and energy efficiency and conservation programs.
He joined Nova Scotia Power in 1986 and held increasingly senior technical and managerial roles, including management positions in Regional Operations, Marketing and Sales and Strategic Planning. He was promoted to Vice President from General Manager, Customer Service in September 2007.
Alan holds a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Nova Scotia (now part of Dalhousie University), and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Nova Scotia.
Alan is active in industry associations, and is currently a member and past Chair of the Customer Council of the Canadian Electricity Association, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Nova Scotia Division of the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters. He Chairs the Municipal Government Affairs Committee of the Halifax Chamber of Commerce.
